Tire Pressure Monitor Systems

Keeping your automobile's tires properly inflated is important for your safety, for your automobile, and for fuel economy.

Since 2008, all new vehicles are equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System to alert drivers to low tire pressure.

Tire Pressure Facts
  • Temperature changes tire pressure by an average of 1 PSI (pounds per square inch) for every change of 10 degrees colder or warmer.
  • Fuel Efficiency is reduced by 1% for every 3 PSI (pounds per square inch) under inflation. Keeping tires properly inflated translates to a free tank of gas annually.
